Man! This is my favourite poem in the breath-taking 12 Batswana Poets Album; the compilation that I came to know of through the addictive James Kebu’s Podtape series.
Man, sorry for not giving you a shout out when I met the legendary TJ Dema, I guess I was star struck!
I listened to the album for 2 years straight, particularly this song – weekly. Not understanding a word. Of course, the soothing chorus got me to it. Just this past September, late on a Friday night, as my man was navigating through the traffic – I played the ’’foreign’’ spoken word – with the navigating man from Mathangwane translating.
