Leano “Leih Harvey” Kgaswane

Prior to meeting Leih in 2001, I had known him from the various church youth camps. Starting from the adventurous Pathfinder camps to the SDASA camps, particularly the 1998 Pietermaritzburg SDASA camp. Where I was always with Leih and other boys, such as Joe and Boy-Boy.
In 2001, I spent most of my time at the Eskom College with Leih, where some of the Batswana students were accommodated. Students such as Fish; Boyce; Bomber and Amuchilani, well known as Armchair. Not only Botswana students but also South African students, and Lesotho students. It was at the Eskom College where I met Ronald and Khangi, the guys who were very instrumental in increasing my hip-hop collection. Ronald introduced me to the great J Dilla. In this picture, taken in 2012, I am with Leih, as well as the late J Dilla.
The best year in my life, was my time at Eskom: for the first time in my life, I could sleep to whenever I want, I could stay out until whenever, I didn’t have to go to church, and also, I did not wash my parent’s as well as the visitor’s hands anymore.
I strongly believe my Eskom initiation was never going to be the same, without my right-hand man, my confidant, the very calm Leih. He named me Psycho, rightly so.
