“The name of the country is Botswana, the people are Batswana, one person from Botswana is a Motswana and the national language is Setswana” (Nyati-Ramahobo 2000, p.293).
I remember saying this to a group of almost-drunk Salsa Dancers, a trio of ladies: a German; a Polish and a Scottish. I think around 2010 if not 11, I was the barman that long evening, and they asked me where I come from, and I thought, let me add something interesting to it. They were impressed, I think.
Today, 23 September 2017, at 19:45 when I saw this written down by one of my favourite Intellectuals (I need to meet her) I was reminded of that beautiful evening back in my spiritual home, Aberdeen, Scotland.
