On this day 20 years ago, the remains of ‘El Negro’ arrived in Botswana from Spain. His body was stolen in 1830 in present-day South Africa. It was taken to France and displayed in a museum before heading to the Spanish city of Banyoles, where it was put on show until 1997. His grave can be found at Tsholofelo Park in Gaborone.
