European airports, Botswana passport

In 2011, at Vienna Airport, I was told I needed a Schengen Visa to board the flight. Angry, I asked “if I needed a Visa, how then was I allowed to enter Paris, stay for a week and then fly to Prague 4 weeks ago?” It was only after I called Michaela to the desk that they figured out the puzzle.

In 2013, at Aberdeen Airport, enroute to Barcelona with Michaela, after checking in without any problems, on the way to boarding the flight, I was taken aside and asked to prove that I had accomodation booked in Spain. Without any questions about my residence status.
