80s Baby

 

There is nothing fulfilling like going through newsfeeds on Facebook and you come across Mmeikho aka Ralebuchara, Bazooka, Monale, Ndebe, Mapelo, Ponono, Matheketheke, Rantapo, Rankagisa, as well as the great Teiman and Bophose aka Jumbo Jet’s sisters: Mmaoratis, Futu and MmaSabata (I still hear the 10-15-year-old Teiman shouting the names). 

 They are the foremost people that profoundly helped in developing and shaping my thinking. 

 Carefree: During our childhood, our patlelo, or playground, the open space adjoining the kgotla cattle kraal was always filled with our young selves: kicking ball, skipping rope, throwing stones, retelling stories and just running around. 

 I think soon we should play together, again. Same place.
