There is a Setswana wedding song that goes: “heela matsale, tlogela dipitsa tseo monnga tsone ke yooo o etla!”
In short, it means the bride’s mother in law, (and other inlaws alike) should now chill, for the bride will now take care of business, literally, the kitchen.
My brother, Nkgotla, used to drive me around the capital. Now, his wife, Alebakwe, took over.
