Today I was welcomed home by the melodious sounds of the goat and sheep bell. I was at Goora Kgasa ward. I saw my people in the streets and passages of Kgatleng. I chatted for a while with the legendary Culture le Sledge; we enjoyed the delicious satellite mangwinya.
I went to warmly greet my maternal grandmother at Goora Mokhai, she was with my dear cousin Nkemi. They insisted I drink the freshly sourced creamy goats milk. After the milk: I went to Mmpuutsane, where I enjoyed the scenic views atop the hill. On the way back home, I stopped at Goora Ramantele – where my cousin Shakes opened the sliding gate for me. I enjoyed a cold glass of the Oros drink; made by my aunty: my father’s sister. I then went to my paternal grandmother’s family home: at Goora Mogojwa. I met her siblings families. There was a wedding: my cousin Stan’s. We utterly enjoyed a tasty plate of seswaa.
Since I was now exhausted from the long walks; my uncle, Kaizer: the husband to my mother’s sister – happily drove me to Goora Sebonego ward. Where my aunty, another sister to my mother, warmly greeted me. Sipping on some Coca-Cola Coke, I chatted with my cousins: Shado le Schoolboy.
Of course, today I was home.
