Congratulations!

This young lady went beyond sparking my imagination when I was only 10 going 11-years-old. It was in 1992 when she was born to my mother’s sister and Kaizer, I hope you still remember him. Her very first days on planet earth were spent in a room right next to me and my brother’s. You see I adored baby Gorata, but at the same time she seemed to have magical powers as everyone loved her, of course, I was very jealous.

Although my special connection with babies was long started by her brother Thapelo in 1988, it is baby Gorata that went on to solidify my love for babies. Other than the babbling Gorata, the giggling Gorata and the very smooth Gorata what I remember vividly is the joy she seem to have brought every one at home and outside: uncles, grandmother, aunties, my parents, my cousins, my siblings and various people at the Mafhikana church.
It is an honour to have witnessed her development from the day she was born. As she starts a new chapter in life, I know that she will continue bringing joy to this world.
The world is yours Gorata! Congratulations.
