Just learnt that today marks 25 years since Bafana Bafana won the Africa Cup of Nations.
I remember the day vividly.
My cousin Shima and I strolled to Phomolo bar. He was about 19, I was 14. Although kids my age were not allowed in bars, we always found a way in. I remember jumping with excitement, and men – with big bellies- hugging me moments after Mark Williams’ first goal. A beautiful moment.
