My most beloved memories from Mafhikana Primary School centre around guys such as Reetsang “Seretse” Simane.
Although we were classmates only in 1994 when I was part of a few students transferred to Mma Phologolo’s Standard 7 class, Seretse and I formed a bond. It was guys such as Seretse who warmed up to my naughty character. Seretse became my favourite classmate.
Although then I got the lyrics wrong; I always sang this song in his praise:
“Seretse Seretse!
Serudi sa pula wee!
Seretse Seretse!”
Those were some of the best days of my life.
